Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Component Shop Technician. Reporting to the Shops Manager, the Component Shop Technician is responsible for the overhaul and repair of aircraft components, NDT inspections, tool calibration, battery maintenance and supporting the fleet as required. This position will primarily be working in the Component Shop but may require maintenance on the aircraft or in the field.In this role your duties will include the following:Overhaul, repair, inspection, and servicing of aircraft componentsInspection, testing and calibration of specialized tooling and instrumentsNDT inspections in a variety of disciplines inclusive of MPI, LPI, ET and UTRecertification of Avionics components and equipmentMaintenance of Lead Acid and NiCad batteriesDemonstrate safe practices and techniques to foster a safe workplace environmentWork within a team environment performing in a professional and courteous mannerFostering strong professional relationships with teammates and customersPerform duties in accordance with Conair’s policies, procedures and applicable regulating bodiesComplete assigned tasks and related documentation in a timely and accurate mannerMaintain currency as applicable to Conair memos, maintenance bulletins and noticesKnowledge of CARs as related to aircraft maintenancePerform other duties as requiredWe are looking for someone with:Must be mechanically inclinedPossess a high standard of quality and attention to detail in all aspects of dutiesFamiliar with utilizing precision measuring equipmentSkilled in working effectively with hand tools and power equipment Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and literatureKnowledge of all safety protocols governing tasks being performedMust have an intrinsic desire to continuously improve workplace safetyMust maintain the requirements for an effective respirator fit testAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with staff and customersAbility to pivot efficiently to satisfy production demands as instructedDecisive and self-motivated to meet department objectives while maintaining exceptional interpersonal skillsAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in technical EnglishTraining/Education:NDT experience is an assetAvionics or electrical experience is an assetAME license is an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer skills is an asset Successful completion of an approved aviation trade school is an asset
