ProLog, Inc. is seeking a reliable and organized Tools and Parts Attendant to join our team supporting the FRCSE Production Support Services contract at Naval Station Norfolk. Working from an assigned Tool Crib or Mega Center, this position is responsible for the inventory management, issuance, and maintenance of tools, parts, and equipment essential to the Production Department&39;s mission in a fast-paced aviation industrial environment.
Essential Functions:
- Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, parts, shop supplies, and measuring devices.
- Manages and issues Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maintains accurate inventory records and prepares requisitions to procure tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Conducts systematic searches for lost or misplaced tools and equipment to ensure accountability.
- Visually and physically inspects tools and equipment for wear, damage, or defects, reporting findings to supervisors.
- Prepares new tools for use, including unpacking, storing, and engraving identification marks.
- Custom-fabricates tool control foam cutouts for toolbox organization and accountability.
- Properly disposes of empty HAZMAT containers according to EPA and facility-specific instructions.
- Maintains organized files and records related to tool issuance, inventory, and HAZMAT tracking.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation required for the issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC) and to obtain and maintain a Public Trust designation.
- A basic knowledge of Naval Aviation hand tools and measuring devices.
- Past documented experience with handling, storing, and issuing Hazardous Material.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with a warehouse and production environment, including frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in an aviation maintenance organizational tool room.
- Experience with tool and inventory management systems such as ATICS or MAXIMO.
- A working knowledge of lean six sigma and/or ISO 9000 principles.
Work Environment:
- This role operates within a hangar, tool room, and warehouse environment. The employee may be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as noise, dust, heat, cold, and wind. The position requires the ability to work effectively in an active, industrial setting.
